From running with the Olympic torch, to performing at the American Music Awards, The Wanted have had quite an amazing year. As 2012 comes to a close, the lads of The Wanted are ending things on a high note. Their hit song Glad You Came has just been named as the number one song of 2012 by the American Top 40.
Glad You Came, which earlier this year had gone triple platinum in the US, is the song that has paved The Wanted’s path to breaking America. They are the first vocal group since Boys II Men in 1992 to have the year-end number one.
They had stiff competition from Gotye (Somebody That I Used To Know- #2), Fun. (We Are Young- #3) and One Direction (What Makes You Beautiful- #11).
With an eagerly anticipated album set for release early next year and an up-coming UK arena tour, The Wanted are set to have quite an exceptional 2013 as well.
