Madame Tussauds London gave One Direction fans an early Christmas treat last night, with an exclusive preview screening of One Direction: This Is Us on Blu-ray attended by some very special guests.
Seated in the front rows of the attraction’s state of the art cinema, were the amazingly life-like wax figures of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis, which drew startled gasps and screams from the 200 strong audience.
The screening was held to celebrate the release of One Direction: This is Us on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD (out on 19th December) – to inject some added fun, the Madame Tussauds team moved the band’s figures from the main attraction to keep their fans company in the cinema.
“I was speechless when I saw them sitting there and at first I really did think it was them,” said 16 year old fan Harriet Shefford, who got to sit next to Louis’ figure for the screening. “I totally LOVE One Direction, I’ve seen the movie loads of times and have already visited the figures at Madame Tussauds London and think they are brilliant! But this was almost like having a date with Louis! I put my arm round him and held his hand!”, Harriet added.
The Blu-ray previewed last night, features exclusive content including footage of the creation of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis’s figures and their sittings for the Madame Tussauds sculptors. The movie – an intimate all access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon – has already been a hit with fans and the release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD is one of the most eagerly anticipated of the year.
