Prince has experienced unprecedented demand for his first UK regional arena dates in 19 years which sold out within minutes, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave. The site is currently registering tens of thousands of searches from eager fans who are vying to get tickets to the gigs.
Prince kicked off 2014 with a slew of guerrilla shows in London and Manchester sparking rumours that he was planning to headline a major summer show in Hyde Park or possibly Glastonbury. However, a massive London show has yet to materialise.
The Purple One will be playing Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds this month with his backing group 3RDEYEGIRL.
A spokesperson for Seatwave commented: “Prince always delivers in concert. He exudes charisma which should make his upcoming shows a highlight in any music lovers’ gig calendar. We are currently registering very high levels of demand which proves that the 80s pop star still has an extremely loyal and committed fan base.”
