One Direction’s new album ‘FOUR’ has once again rocketed the band to the top of charts all around the world, with 10 chart No.1’s so far and more still to come. The album also hit total No.1 on iTunes in an incredible 85 countries, surpassing even their previous album ‘Midnight Memories’, which was the biggest selling album of 2013.
In the USA, One Direction have made history once again by becoming the first ever band to debut at the top of the US Billboard chart with each of their first four albums. This amazing US debut comes hot off the heels of One Direction’s incredible night at the American Music Awards where they performed their new single ‘Night Changes’ and took home 3 awards including Artist of the Year.
With worldwide sales of over 2 million in its first week, ‘FOUR’ has hit the top of the album charts in the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece and Japan.
On Spotify, the album was streamed 29.3 million times around the world last week. FOUR became the largest ever first week stream in the US with 11.6 million streams. The band also reached a milestone with Spotify as they hit 1 billion total streams, joining an elite handful of superstars to reach this feat.
In 2015 One Direction will once again take to the road for their second worldwide stadium tour in as many years – as well as Europe, Australia and North America, the tour will see the band returning to Asia and visiting the UAE and South Africa for the very first time. ‘Where We Are – The Concert Film’ was recorded at the band’s show at Milan’s legendary San Siro Stadium this year and is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 1st.
