Reload festival returns with a huge line-up of superstars from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s for a weekend of unbridled fun at the spectacular Norfolk Showground.
Joining the bill on Saturday will be Soft Cell front man and prolific solo artist Marc Almond. This Ivor Novello award winner is a truly iconic figure whose haunting synth, new-wave, classics are as enduring today as they were when they dominated the nation’s airwaves in the 80’s.
Sunday will see the return of crowd favourite Rick Astley. Best known for his 1987 signature tune ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ which went to number 1 in a whopping 25 countries, Rick became an internet phenomenon when the Rickrolling sensation took off and ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ has now been watched over a staggering 100 million times on Youtube.
Also joining the Saturday lineup will be one of the defining figures of mid-80s pop, Howard Jones. With ten top 40 hits between 1983 and 1986 including his smash hit ‘What Is Love?’ and a career that is still going strong he is a great addition to festival.
From global hit ‘Walking On Sunshine’ through to the Eurovision Song Contest winning single ‘Love Shine A Light’ Katrina (ex-and The Waves) has a huge catalogue of songs that has seen her continue to tour the globe with phenomenal success.
Birmingham’s finest sons, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue reunited will headline on Saturday where other acts appearing will include Grammy Award winning mega star Billy Ocean and the dance, disco and soul of Mercury Music Prize winners M People.
Sunday will see a performance from one of the UK’s most powerful live acts Level 42’s as well as sets from new wave trailblazers Boomtown Rats and one of the voices of the 80’s, Jimmy Somerville.
Seminal club night Carwash will be hosting the after party on Saturday night exclusively for campers, spinning solid gold disco classics and hands-in-the-air anthems to keep the party going ‘All Night Long’.
With many more acts to be confirmed, surprise guests and announcements, fancy dress, great food and drink and more fun that you can shake a (glow) stick at,
Reload is one of the UK’s most entertaining weekends and a must for music lovers who want to relive the golden decades and celebrate good times. Come on!
