Forbes have announced its annual list of Hip-Hop Cash Kings, rap’s top earners over the past 12 months.
This year’s Top Five Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Cash Kings are:
1. Diddy: $60 million
2. Jay Z: $56 million
3. Drake: $39.5 million
4. Dr. Dre: $33 million
5. Pharrell: $32 million
Elsewhere in the list, Eminem narrowly missed out on the top 5, Nicki Minaj was the only female rap act to make the top 20, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis nearly missed the cut altogether after falling from $32m of earnings in 2014 to $5.5m this year. To calculate the rankings, Forbes considers pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements, and other business ventures from June 2014 to June 2015.
