Irish model and TV personality Nadia Forde is releasing a charity single ‘Haunted’, with proceeds going towards the Marie Keating Foundation, which raises awareness of cancer.
The cause is particularly pertinent for Nadia, with her mother Berenice Paolozzi having lost her hard-fought fight with lymphoma cancer earlier this year.
Music has always been a big part of Nadia’s life, and the beautiful ballad makes reference to her reconciled relationship with her mother.
The Marie Keating Foundation, founded by Ronan Keating and his family in the wake of their own mother’s battle with cancer, serves to raise awareness of cancer throughout the UK. The Foundation have three mobile units which travel the UK educating people about cancer, educate children in schools, as well as offering financial support to those suffering with the disease
Of the single, Nadia said “I wrote Haunted while my mother was still alive. The song is about our relationship; it’s no secret that it was a difficult one. I wanted her to know that despite everything I would always be her little girl, and she would always be my mum. It’s a very special song to me, and hopefully it was to her, and it’s what I always wanted to say but found difficult to say face-to-face.
I want to help raise as much money as possible with this single for The Marie Keating Foundation. I want families to benefit from the support that is available to them; I want people to know they are not alone. It’s kind of healing to know your helping in some way – and I want to help”.
