Grammy nominated Americana troubadours, The Lumineers, reveal the video for ‘Sleep On The Floor’. Directed by Isaac Ravishankara (Ellie Goulding, Hosier, Phantogram), it is the third in a series of videos depicting the stories & interlinking narratives behind the album’s characters, presented in reverse-chronological order.
Here we find the album’s muse, Cleopatra, on a quintessential road trip adventure. Premiered via Facebook, you can find the video HERE. The video ‘Sleep On The Floor’ follows the videos for ‘Cleopatra’ & ‘Angela’ which were revealed over the summer and have racked up nearly 10 million combined views.
In addition, due to overwhelming demand, The Lumineers have announced a second show at renowned New York venue Madison Square Garden having sold out tickets for their 2 February show in mere hours. The band are renowned for their impressive live show having just wrapped their UK tour to huge critical acclaim, with Evening Standard (4*) stating “”The Lumineers rootsy rock was endlessly entertaining, as each member demonstrated an impressive versatility” while The Times (4*) highlighting the fact “[Lead singer] Schultz shone and his band played out of their skins to keep up his momentum”.
The Lumineers have also been announced to partake in one of the most exciting events of the holiday season, the prestigious 94th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in President’s Park (White House). This legendary American Holiday tradition takes places on Thursday, December 1, on the Ellipse at President’s Park and will see The Lumineers playing alongside Garth Brooks and Chance the Rapper. You can follow this exciting event on Twitter at @TheNationalTree, follow #NCTL2016 on social media, and visit www.thenationaltree.org for more information about the event and its history.
This follows from the band being personally invited by President Obama to perform at the White House for this year’s South by South Lawn festival (where they appeared alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings & Gallant); an incredible feat in a year that has already seen the band hit the top of the charts around the world and play pristine slots at both this year’s Glastonbury & Latitude Festival here in the U.K. The global success of the band’s sophomore album ‘Cleopatra’ saw them hit the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic earlier this year, continuing the success story of their Grammy nominated, platinum-selling self-titled debut ‘The Lumineers’ back in 2012.
