MTV UK, with MTV UP! Energy Drink today announce that voting for your favourite act to win MTV Brand New 2017 is now open. The winner will be crowned on 2nd February, at what promises to be an epic night of performances from previous Brand New act Sigala, and MTV Brand New 2017 acts Tom Grennan, Stefflon Don, and The Amazons at Electric Ballroom.

Since being revealed on the MTV Brand New 2016 shortlist, Sigala has established himself as the No.1 most played British male act across commercial UK radio. He is a regular chart topping DJ with tracks ‘Easy Love’, ‘Sweet Lovin’’, ’Say You Do’ and ‘Give Me Your Love’ featuring John Newman, which all reached the UK Top Ten. 2016 saw him finish off the year with the release of his new single ‘Only One’, which added to his ever growing collection of Platinum, Gold and Silver disc awards and racked up an impressive figure of 500 million streams worldwide and over 2.5 million singles sold in the UK. The showcase is set to be an anthem-packed night with this headliner!

Tom Grennan first found fame featuring on the Chase & Status track ‘All Goes Wrong’. His debut EP ‘Something In The Water’, which was produced by Chris Hugail (Florence + The Machine) showcases his raspy, emotive vocals and saw him come joint second in The Guardian’s Poll of Poll 2017. Tom releases his new EP this coming February to coincide with his sold out UK tour.

Clapton singer/rapper Stefflon Don, London’s new grime queen, has been collecting fans since 2014 with her cover versions of Section Boyz’s ‘Lock Arf’, Rae Sremmurd’s ‘No Type’and Wretch 32’s ‘Six Words’. She has worked with major names such as Jeremiah and has featured with everyone from Angel to Lethal Bizzle and Sneakbo. Her highly anticipated mix-tape ‘Real Ting’ is now available and has already passed 3 million streams.
Stefflon Don says: ‘I’m crazy excited to be performing at the MTV Brand new 2017 showcase! MTV has always been about showcasing new talent and to be selected by the team to perform on the night is an honour!’
The Amazons, who have been strongly supported across UK radio, look set to become 2017’s most popular rockers. The quartet released a critically acclaimed EP ‘Don’t You Wanna?’ last year, which was produced by Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, Foals, White Lies). The band will be releasing their debut album later this year.

Selected by MTV officials, key music influencers and industry representatives, the shortlist includes the most exciting new UK music talent for 2017. These acts are now going head to head in a public vote on social media, battling it out until the all-conquering winner is revealed on February 2nd.
