Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Rita Ora has announced the release of her highly anticipated third album, “You & I”, set to be released on July 14th through BMG.
The album, which features co-writing credits from Rita on every track, represents her most personal project yet, with each song conceptually connected to the different chapters of her relationship. Working with executive producer Oak Felder, Rita has created a high-spirited record that captures the essence of falling in love instinctually.
The announcement of “You & I” also coincides with the release of her latest single, “Praising You,” featuring Fatboy Slim, which reworks the Grammy-nominated chart-topper “Praise You.” In collaboration with Fatboy Slim, Rita has introduced a fresh version of the classic piano riff and feel-good chorus, offering a delicious metaphor for the captivating nature of love. The single is sure to become an EDM summer anthem.
The accompanying music video, directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, features Rita auditioning for the role of her dreams alongside a group of dancers, complete with a cameo from Fatboy Slim. The video is a nod to the Spike Jonze-directed “Praise You” video and culminates in a glamorous Studio 54-esque performance.
Rita is set to make her debut global-exclusive performance of “Praising You” at the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final on May 9th, alongside a medley of some of her biggest hits. In addition to her music career, Rita is set to star in the upcoming Disney+ original film “Descendants: The Rise of Red” alongside Brandy, as well as the film “Tin Soldier” alongside Robert De Niro and Jamie Foxx.
Rita’s latest album and single represent a new era in her artistic career, made possible by her partnership with BMG, which allows her to own all her future master recordings and enjoy complete artistic control.
