Sony Music has announced the release of WHAM! original studio albums Fantastic and Make It Big on special edition colour vinyl and black vinyl. This marks the first time these records have been available in a physical vinyl format in over 30 years. The albums, which were released in 1983 and 1984 respectively, helped catapult the duo to global stardom.
‘Fantastic’, the duo’s debut album, debuted at #1 in the UK and sold millions of copies worldwide. It featured hits such as ‘Bad Boys’, ‘WHAM! Rap’, and the iconic ‘Club Tropicana’. Make It Big, their second album, also debuted at #1 in both the US and the UK. It yielded four singles, all of which made it into the top three in both the US and the UK. The album included hits like ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’, ‘Everything She Wants’, and ‘Freedom’.
WHAM! made a major breakthrough with these remarkable albums in the 1980s, and their impact on the music industry and pop culture has endured over the decades. These unforgettable records managed to establish WHAM! as the Eighties’ definitive poster boys – as well as leaving us with a legacy of perfect pop hits.
The release of ‘Fantastic’ and ‘Make It Big’ on limited edition colour and black vinyl comes with the excitement of a new generation discovering the music in its original formats.
