Sales of Kate Bush albums have seen a significant rise on Amazon.co.uk following the singer’s first live performances since 1979.
Since opening night of the Before the Dawn shows on Tuesday 22nd August, fans have rushed to revisit some of her best-known albums, with combined sales 2813% higher than the previous week.
The Whole Story, released in 1986, saw an uplift of 1743% since the first performance. However, other albums experienced much bigger uplifts on the Amazon Music Store with sales of 50 Words for Snow increasing by 3114%, while Hounds of Love spiked by over 5000%.
Bush’s seventh studio album, The Red Shoes, has seen the biggest uplift as fans rush to listen to the singer songwriter’s more recent material, with a sales jump of over 8000%.
The uplift in sales has made Kate Bush the first woman to have eight albums chart in the top 40 simultaneously. It follows the opening of her 22 date sell-out shows at the Hammersmith Apollo, during which she will play to more than 80,000 fans.
Tickets to the gigs at the Hammersmith Apollo sold out within 15 minutes, leaving many fans wanting – and it appears they have rushed online to revisit the singer’s back-catalogue.
