Somersault today announced that the Ivor Novello winning and BRIT nominated artist Passenger and London based Crystal Fighters will complete the three days of headliner music at this year’s festival. Passenger and Crystal Fighters join the already confirmed headliners, Bombay Bicycle Club and Laura Marling.
Packed full of music, adventures and the best of outdoor living, now in its sophomore year, Somersault returns to North Devon to kick start the summer holidays. With seaside escapades, field trips and craft classes on offer by day before fun-fuelled feasts and forest festivities under the stars at night, Somersault promises 5 days of stripped back happiness for all. For the adventurous, there are surf trips to nearby Croyde Bay, in addition to coastal rafting, coasteering, paddle boarding and swimming in the River Bray. Back on dry land, activities include mountain biking on the nearby Exmoor, plus power kiting, falconry, rock climbing and much more. For those looking to take things down a notch, the Outdoor Wellbeing area hosts yoga classes, massages, treatments, and barefoot runs.

When the live music draws to a close, the night remains young for those wishing to venture across the river and in to the forest. Chai Wallahs are the official hosts of the Late Night Forest Parties providing an audio visual extravaganza set to the sounds of DJ Yoda, The Correspondents and Norman Jay MBE – who will all be taking to the decks until the early hours.
The label and promotions company Communion Music will once again return to host their own stage including a canvas-tented whiskey and ale bar, a dining area serving smoked meats, a record store as well as late night guest DJ’s. Theatre production company Rhubarb Theatre will also be on hand to host their walkabout storytelling and fantastical theatre shows for all the family to enjoy.
Somersault Festival’s nominated charity is Surfers Against Sewage. Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is an environmental charity protecting the UK’s oceans, waves and beaches for all to enjoy safely and sustainably. The charity’s work is carried out year round via community action, campaigning, volunteering, conservation, education and scientific research.
