Lawson have unveiled the video for their new single ’Roads’, the first single to be taken from their eagerly anticipated forthcoming album.

Recorded at the world renowned Blackbird Studios in Nashville, ‘Roads’ sees Lawson – Andy Brown (lead vocals/ guitars), Ryan Fletcher (bass), Joel Peat (guitar), and Adam Pitts (drums) –  maturing as artists and coming of age as a band, with a towering singalong chorus, melodic backing vocals and stomping drums incessantly driving the track forward.

The video was directed by James Slater (Kaiser Chiefs, Jamie T, White Lies). It sees Andy running away from himself through a wild, rugged landscape, the dramatic cinematography perfectly complimenting Andy’s heartfelt lyrics.

Four years since writing ‘Chapman Square’- the top 5 debut album which spawned five top 10 singles and saw Lawson sell a million records in the UK, performing at V, T in the Park and The Isle of Wight festival in the process— ‘Roads’ (Polydor, May 10th) is the first taster from their supremely confident sophomore album which is due for release later this year, and sees Andy Brown honing his craft as a songwriter.

In Andy’s words: “’It was important for us as a band to come back with something fresh and exciting. Roads feels like a step forward, and explores addictions people can go through. The writing and recording process at Blackbird Studios in Nashville allowed us to test ourselves and try new sounds and directions. We’re really proud of it’”

Brimming with future classics that range from festival rabble rousers to tender heartbreak ballads, the impact of the creative environment that the band immersed themselves in Nashville for the album recording sessions is evident throughout.

Full details of their forthcoming studio album and more live dates will be announced shortly.
