Debbie Harry has revealed she is more than happy with One Directions Comic Relief version of her 70’s hit One Way Or Another.
The boys topped the charts in February with a medley of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” 1979 and The Undertones’ “Teenage Kicks from 1978.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Debbie said: “I was pleased by One Direction’s version – I thought they did a good job.”
“Making a mash-up of our song by putting it together with The Undertones’ track was entirely appropriate.”
Blondie’s first hit Denis, which reached No 2 in 1978, was also a cover.
Debbie, 67, continued: “One Direction’s take had a similar spirit to our early cover versions “They seem good kids.”
