Soul, rock & blues singer Adele, singer songwriter Emeli Sandé and rock band Coldplay are helping send Britons to the land of nod, according to findings from a new kip report out today.
The sleep study conducted by Travelodge surveyed 2,500 adults to investigate which musicians Britons are tuning into at bedtime to help aid a restful night’s sleep
The 2013 kip charts revealed multi award winner, MBE holder and self taught singer & songwriter Adele is the nation’s favourite ‘Snoozician’ for the second consecutive year. Adele’s award winning songs such as ‘Chasing Pavements’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Someone Like You’ are amongst Britons favourite bedtime tunes to help them to relax and nod off. Three of her songs make the top five singles to get to sleep to:
- Skyfall by Adele
- Someone Like You by Adele
- Beneath Your Beautiful by Emeli Sandé
- Chasing Pavements by Adele
- Fix You by Coldplay
Recording artist and songwriter Emeli Sandé has entered the kip charts for the first time in second position. Simon Cowell’s favourite songwriter is also Britons second favourite artist to fall asleep to. ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ and ‘Read All About It’ and are amongst the nation’s favourite bedtime tunes to fall asleep to.
The British band, Coldplay, have dropped in the kip charts this year, having held the number one position in 2008, 2010 and 2012. Last year the rock band won second place in the kip charts but this year the meditative melodies of Chris Martin are in third place for lulling Britons into slumber.
For the first time Austrian composer Wolfgang Mozart has gained a place in the top five rankings of the kip charts. This year the musician famous for creating a string of operas, concertos, symphonies and sonatas has won fourth place – his music helping modern British adults to fall asleep.
New entry into the charts, The Script, an Irish rock band, made famous by hits such as ’The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ and ‘Breakeven’ have won fifth place in the 2013 Kip Charts.
