Following on from the success of the two previous singles and stadium sounding anthems, The Seeds You Sow and Messiah, Prides are now set to release a third infectious single ‘I Should Know You Better’ on September 29.
Singer, Stewart Brock says, “Lots of songs are love songs. And lots of our songs are love songs, but we try to approach them from a slightly unconventional angle if we can. ‘I Should Know You Better’ is about not trusting your own feelings. How can you be in love with someone if you’re still finding out things about them? It’s about doubt and fear and love, all wrapped up together.
It came to life after we listened to The Waterboys ‘Whole of the Moon’ – that song really informed the way we wanted to go about the lyrics and melody. It’s uplifting, and very poetic, repetitive, rhythmic.”
Proving that finally there is a band that digs up the dark and dirty synth of the 80’s and repurposes it for the eclectic and exciting heights of pop, Prides have spent the summer performing live across the UK and US to ecstatic crowds, gaining new fans continuously.
Fresh off a tour across the US supporting Magic Man, they are a fantastic live band that own every venue they play. Their upcoming dates include:
1 August – Leopallooza Festival, Cornwall
2 August – Ynot Festival, Derbyshire
6 August – Brixton Academy, London (supporting Blink 182)
8 August – Wilderness Festival, Oxfordshire
9 August – Summer Well Festival, Romania
18 – 22 August – Prides Club – intimate venues around Scotland
22 August – Leeds Festival, Headlining BBC Introducing Stage
24 August – Reading Festival, Headlining BBC Introducing Stage
29 August – Bingley Music Live, Bingley
30 August – Electric Fields Festival, Dumfries
An addictive, dazzling track, electrifying live shows and a band with a voice, Prides are clearly a force to be reckoned with.
