Lola Moxom

Introducing Lola Moxom, the 19-year-old singer, songwriter, producer and performer who today arrives on the scene with statement debut single, ‘Cool With It’.

Drawing influence from traditional and contemporary R&B, Lola Moxom’s music reflects her deep appreciation for the genre’s roots while pushing the boundaries of its modern form. As a singer/songwriter with a strong ear for producing music, Lola brings a fresh perspective to her craft, combining the essence of an old soul with a modern twist.

‘Cool With It’ is more than just a debut single; it is a declaration of Lola Moxom’s arrival on the music scene. The song’s earworm melody, impressive vocal performance, and stellar production highlights her potential to become a major force in the industry.

Of ‘Cool With It’, Lola Moxom said: “I never thought this song would ever see the light of day—I wrote it about three years ago, which feels like a lifetime at my age. It’s one of the very first songs I created in the studio when I started collaborating with producers. This song means the world to me because it’s about dealing with disrespect and thinking the only way to make them understand their mistake is to give them a taste of their own medicine. I was stuck in a toxic relationship back then, so this song really hits close to home for me. I’m super proud of the vocal arrangement, and James Berkeley’s production added so much soul to it. I feel like this track is the perfect introduction of my music to the world, blending all the influences that have shaped me.”

Rising South London pop newcomer Samira has unleashed her latest track, ‘See Through You’. Listen below.

Samira – See Through You

Choose your preferred music service

The emotive, DnB-infused track is co-written by Samira with electronic pop producer PALMR.

‘See Through You’ marks a confident and unapologetic new chapter for the emerging singer-songwriter. Sketched after observing a string of messy nights out and the even darker comedowns of her closest friends, the lyrics stare through the artifice of hedonism to uncover a hidden truth.

Samira said: ‘I’m so excited to get this song out there – it’s a real change of pace for me and one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. I love how dark the production and the lyrics are – it’s a real statement of intent as to who I am as an artist and where I’m taking things for the next EP.’

Following the release of her debut EP “Dancefloors & Drama Vol. 1” in January, Samira has spent the past six months honing her craft in the studio with some of the industry’s most exciting names in UK dance, electronic and pop.

Samira released a string of singles in 2023 that showcased her ability to spin bittersweet experiences into solid pop bangers – including ‘Toxic’, ‘Broke Me Good’ and ‘Envy Me’. The releases garnered buzz and press support from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, CLASH, Billboard, NME Best New Bangers and MTV UK.

Further to writing with renowned pop songwriters and producers like Cutfather (Kylie Minogue) and Kal Lavelle (Ed Sheeran), Samira continues to keep her footing in the fast-paced UK dance music scene. Her collaboration with WDC on the 2022 club remake of ‘I Love Your Smile’ earned Samira the first of her three UK Top 5 Club Chart placements. She also teamed up with in-demand British DJ ESSEL for the infectious ‘Where My Girls At’.

K-pop Supergroup NCT 127 Returns With Sixth Studio Album ‘WALK’

K-Pop supergroup NCT 127 return with their sixth full studio album “WALK”, led by the focus single of the same name, out digitally today. Arriving at the pinnacle of summer, the 11-track album once again defines NCT 127 as a genre-defying group pushing the sonic boundaries of Korean pop, with songs that range from drum-led hip hop to soft guitar melodies. “WALK” is now available on various music sites including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and more HERE. Pre-order for the physical album, which will be available in the UK on 19 July.

For the first time in their eight-year career, NCT 127’s members take on early 2000s hip hop with focus single ‘Walk’. The track has an infectious early aughties feel, with boom bap-style drums, retro guitar riffs, and choreography inspired by mop-style hip hop dancing. The lyrics symbolise NCT 127’s confidence and pride in forging their own path rather than following someone else’s. The music video is available to watch below.

‘Walk’ isn’t their only move into hip hop on the album, with ‘Intro: Wall to Wall’ using the genre to reflect on the journey NCT 127 have taken since their debut in 2016 and their aspirations for the future. ‘No Clue’ takes the less serious route, blending hip hop, soul, and funk to celebrate living free without being weighed down by thoughts; while ‘Orange Seoul’, with its jazzy sax and piano melodies, describes dreamy watercolour sunsets over Seoul, a symbolic city for the group.

The LP also features ‘Pricey’, an honest examination of love’s many costs, set to bouncy 808 drums. Mid-tempo ‘Time Capsule’ recalls sweet memories with loved ones unchanging with time, and dreamy ‘Can’t Help Myself’ describes a fateful story of love.

‘Rain Drop’ is a soulful R&B tune about articulating one’s inner feelings, followed by electro-trap ‘Gas’ revving up the tracklist to encourage everyone to step on the accelerator, full speed ahead. The album concludes with ‘Suddenly’, an intense portrayal of gradual attraction, and ‘Meaning of Love’, a sweet guitar-driven song about love.

“WALK” is NCT 127’s first full release of 2024, following their three-track winter EP “Be There For Me – Winter Special Single” and last year’s fifth full studio album “Fact Check”. In between group activities, the members have treated fans to near non-stop solo releases, including MARK’s solo debut single ‘200’ in May, DOYOUNG’s first solo album ‘Youth’ in April, and TAEYONG’s sophomore solo EP ‘Tap’ in April.

“WALK” Track List:

1. Intro: Wall to Wall
2. Walk
3. No Clue
4. Orange Seoul
5. Pricey
6. Time Capsule
7. Can’t Help Myself
8. Rain Drop
9. Gas
10. Suddenly
11. Meaning of Love

Stray Kids headlining BST Hyde Park - Photo: @JRCMCCORD

K-Pop sensation, Stray Kids, was the final headliner to hit the Great Oak Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2024. The eight-strong band – made up of Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N – shot to fame in 2017 after appearing on the South Korean reality TV show “Stray Kids”. Today, they became the first all-male K-Pop act to headline a major UK festival, at BST Hyde Park.

“Hello London, we are so excited to be here”, Bang Chan greeted the audience, before introducing each member of the band to the screaming crowd. “It’s great to be back here,” he added, referring to the five years since the group’s last performance in the UK.

The eight-piece, who are on the brink of releasing their ninth mini album, “ATE”, beamed at the thunderous applause – launching seamlessly into their much-loved songs, “S-Class”, “Freeze” and “Super Bowl”, before moving onto “Topline, “Thunderous” and “Item”. As the drumbeat intro to “Domino” began, Stray Kids took to the runway, zipping and jumping their way back and forth, before returning to the main stage to display their signature dance moves. Naturally, cheers erupted from the 50,000-strong crowd.

Following a brief interlude, filled with Led Zeppelin riffs by the Stray Kids Band, the second half of the show presented the likes of “Lonely Street”, “Social Path”, “Charmer”, “My Pace”, “Back Door”, “Maniac” and “God’s Menu”- the latter lighting up the stage against a backdrop of flames.

The band returned to the stage for an epic encore consisting of “Lalalala”, “Victory Song” and “Miroh”. “Does anyone know the results for the finals?” Bang Chan asked, in reference to England’s Euro 2024 Final clash tonight. The show ended with the original version of “Topline”, followed by their penultimate track, “Megaverse”, before the band’s huge fan-favourite 2020 hit, “Haven” brought the show to a close.

_____

British singer-songwriter, Maisie Peters, couldn’t contain her excitement at being a support act for Stray Kids’ this evening. Much to the glee of the equally vibrant audience, the 24-year-old performed a string of her favourite songs, including her viral hit “History Of A Man”, plus “Love Him I Don’t” and “Not Another Rockstar. Wearing a strappy black top and mini flare skirt, the Sussex-based singer impressed with a Killers’ cover of “Mr Brightside”, before closing with “Lost The Break Up”.

“This is one of my dreams come true,” announced Phoenix-born artist Alec Benjamin, as he took to the Great Oak Stage. “Thank you guys for making this happen.” The 30-year-old musician was an instant hit, of course, wowing audiences with performances of “I Sent My Therapist To Therapy” from his 2023 album “12 Notes”, “If We Have Each Other” from 2018’s “Narrated For You”, plus “The Way You Felt” and “Devil Doesn’t Bargain” from 2021’s “(Un)Commentary”. He added: “[London] might be my favourite city on Earth and thank you Stray Kids for having me!”

Six-strong girl band, NMIXX, wasted no time in getting the audience in the mood for a real British Summer Time party earlier in the afternoon, unleashing their upbeat tunes such as “Dice”, Run For Roses” and “Young, Dumb and Stupid”. “We are so excited to perform our songs in front of you guys,” beamed lead singer, Lily. “Let’s relax and have a lot of fun together.” The group then cranked things up a notch by covering two huge British artists, Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” and Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger”. They ended with two of their most loved numbers, “Moving On” and “Love Me Like This”.

Since making his debut in 2020, Taiwanese artist, KIRE, has been impressing audiences all over the world. Today, he took on London – opening the Great Oak Stage to tens of thousands of waiting fans. “Let me hear you make some noise,” he announced to the screaming audience. “I brought some songs, I hope you guys have fun!” Packing in a lot during his set, Kire brought a fan on stage to be serenaded to his slow-paced track, “Beautiful”, and handed out posters to the crowd, while also performing ”Dream Of You” and “Don’t Stop”. Recently, Kire took to Instagram to express his gratitude to fans. “I love how everyone can be themselves at my show,” he said.

Singer-songwriter, Dhruv, hit fame when his 2019 release “Double Take” went viral on TikTok nearly two years after release. “London, thank you so much for having me,” he said, almost bursting with joy. “This feels like a dream.” The British-Indian singer, who has lived in Singapore and America, showcased his 2024 singles “Speed of Light”, “How?” and “Tragedy”. “I came here [to BST] to see Adele a few years ago, so playing for you now is unbelievable. Thank you Stray Kids for letting us open.”

With nearly 35 million followers on TikTok, it’s no wonder Elijah Woods could be found on the line up for BST Hyde Park 2024. The multi-platinum selling artist performed his top tracks including “24/7, 365”, “Everything, Everywhere, Always” and “Fingers Crossed” during his Rainbow Stage set. He said: My Name Is Elijah Woods and this is my first show in London ever… [it’s] my first show in Europe ever. I’m so happy I get to travel the world and do what I love.”

Scotland-based Bellah Mae opened The Rainbow Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park today. “I’m so happy to be here with you!” she told the audience, before teasing them with tracks such as “Hell and Never Back” and “2053”.

West London’s rising star Tyler Lewis, Welsh A-lister Ben Lewis and genreless AlienBlaze completed the final day of music at American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2024.

As American Express presents BST Hyde Park draws to a close for another year, with over 500,000 fans in attendance, we celebrate the nine iconic artists who have taken to the famous Great Oak Stage over the last three weeks. From SZA, Kings of Leon and Morgan Wallen to Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams and Shania Twain, from Stevie Nicks – with special guest Harry Styles – to Kylie and Stray Kids, this has been the brilliant soundtrack to summer 2024 in London.

Kylie Brings Pop Perfection To Hyde Park

0
Kylie at BST Hyde Park - Photo: Phoebefox

Her most recent album, “Tension”, has been described as “pop perfection” by critics – and the Queen of Pop herself delivered exactly that as she hit the Great Oak Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Saturday night. Arriving among an explosion of pyrotechnics, a disco ball and a giant glistening crown, Kylie got to work with the title track from her critically-acclaimed record – before performing 18 further hit tracks from her 45-year career.

“I never thought I’d be in front of thousands of people singing, ‘Touch me right there’, ” she laughed, following “Tension”. “Don’t make me cry, don’t make me cry – we only just started… there’s so many of you. Hyde Park, are you ready to have some fun?”

Hit after hit, including “Come Into My World”, “In Your Eyes”, Get Outta My Way”, “Things We Do For Love”, “Confide In Me”, Red Blooded Woman”, “Slow”, “Better The Devil You Know”, “Hold On” and “Midnight Ride” filled the air as Kylie bounced between the main stage and her runway, a team of 16 dancers providing an extraordinary backdrop of dance moves in her wake.

“Here’s the thing, I knew we were going to be here tonight,” she continued. “I knew you were going to be here tonight, but you still take my breath away. British Summer Time, I’m really aware it was nine years since I last played this stage… But we are here and I am so so grateful.”

The 56-year-old left no stone unturned when it came to performing her biggest and best-selling songs, a juxtaposition of new and old – from “Padam” to “Locomotion” lighting up the stage. At one point, she even slowed the show right down to have a singalong of hits with the crowd. “Any requests?” she asked, before singing, “Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi”, “2 Hearts” and “Got To Be Certain” a cappella – 65,000 voices singing along with her. “Hyde Park is just like [a] huge hug. Hyde Park just gives,” she added.

Highlights from the setlist could have been every single one of her tracks, from “Spinning Around” and “All The Lovers” to “Cant Get You Out Of My Head” – with Brazilian superstar Anitta, one of Kylie’s support acts, joining her on stage. A pick ‘n’ mix of “One More Time”, “Wow”, “Shocked” and “I Believe In You” added even more spectacular tunes to the set.

Throughout the 90-minute performance, Kylie whipped through five stunning changes of outfit – starting with a red latex jumpsuit, she also donned a sleeveless golden gown, a sheer black bodysuit with silver tassels, a black and white dress with white thigh-high boots and a glistening long black one-piece with magenta cloak.

The global pop icon brought the night to a close with the encore to end all encores, with “One A Night Like This” leading neatly into her brand new single, “My Oh My” – where she was joined by her collaborating artists, Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo. “Hyde Park, we love you!” she exclaimed.”I’ve been waiting for this moment all night… It’s my dream, I’m finally in a girl band.”

To end, Kylie once again took to her runway for “Love At First Sight”, bidding farewell to her sold-out audience among a sea of streamers. “I’m on cloud nine,” she smiled, as the audience applauded and cheered.

_____

The final support artist of the evening was MARINA, the artist formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds. “Hyde Park, how are we doing?” she asked. “It’s been two years since I played London… Thank you for being here.” Unsurprisingly, Marina dazzled instantly in a skin-tight black dress and knee-high boots, with sweeping blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick.

Launching with “Froot”, MARINA performed the very best of her catalogue, such as “Are You Satisfied?”, “I Am Not A Robot”, “Oh No!”, “To Be Human”, “Hollywood” and the mighty “Man’s World”, the latter of which was performed on the piano. The synth-pop artist, who is celebrating 19 years in music, smiled as chants of “We love Marina” echoed through the audience.

“I just want to take a moment to thank Kylie for having me here today,” she announced, beaming. “Thank you Kylie! It’s so rare to meet such an incredible human being, someone so humble this far into an incredible career, She’s incredible and we love her.”

“Hello, London. I’ve come straight from Brazil to tell you how to party!” declared Brazilian star, Anitta. South America’s biggest musical export for a generation, who is currently touring her 2024 LP, “Funk Generation”, was flanked by a stream of dancers as she performed her 45-minute set. Jam-packed with internationally-adored songs from her six studio albums, including the likes of “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Bola Rebola” and “Rave de Favela”, she took the audience by storm.

Earlier this afternoon, 28-year-old Ella Henderson dazzled in a gold sequin two-piece outfit, her hair pulled back into pigtails. “Alright Hyde Park? Who’s ready for a dance?” she asked. “Because we are all here to see Kylie, right? And have a dance.” Henderson launched into a selection of her best-known songs, which includes “Alibi” and “Under The Sun”. The former “X Factor” star ended her performance with the catchy “Ghost”, which she described as “the song that made it all happen for me.”

Kicking off the party on the Great Oak Stage were DJs, ALTÉGO, who have racked up over one million Instagram followers and 10 million streams in recent weeks. The twins were tasked with getting Hyde Park in the mood for Kylie – and they certainly delivered with back-to-back pop mixes, including “Music Sounds Better With You”, “Gimme Gimme Gimme”, “Free From Desire” “Show Me Love” and “Unwritten”. “”Hello BST, how are we doing?” they said, reminding the crowd that England’s football team were through to the final of Euro 2024. “It’s coming home!”

Tom Rasmussen has performed across the UK from the Royal Opera House to Glastonbury – and today, they took on The Rainbow Stage at BST Hyde Park. Having released their debut album, “Body Building”, in 2023, Rasmussen’s lyrics – sometimes dark, often complex – reflect their own journey with their body. They told Hyde Park: “I”ve had a glass of vino, a glass of Kylie’s prosecco and I’m feeling quite good!”

Hailing from Doncaster, Adam Taylor, known as ADMT, brought joy to the Hyde Park line up today with his critically raw lyrics and gentle stage presence. The singer-songwriter, 29, showcased the poignant “Lost” and his recent releases “”Dream”, “Good For You”, plus his most recent track, “Man Now”. Speaking recently, ADMT told Notion: “I guess growth is everything… recognition, social media etc is amazing and I’m super grateful for that, but also my growth as a writer and musician is equally important.”

Celebrated for his reflective and diaristic lyrics, Brit artist Fred Roberts opened The Rainbow Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park today, with a personal dedication to the Queen of Pop herself – in the shape of a “Padam, Padam” t-shirt. “Hello Hyde Park, how we feeling?” he declared, before giving everyone a taste of “Object of Desire” and “Disguise” from his latest EP, “My Youth”.

Australian pop trio Blusher, Brit R&B act Say Now and Spanish-British songstress Grace Gachot completed the penultimate day of pop at BST Hyde Park.

American Express presents BST Hyde Park continues today, Sunday 14 July with headliner Stray Kids, plus Maisie Peters, Alec Benjamin, NMIXX, Kire, Dhruv, Elijah Woods, Bellah Mae, Tyler Lewis, Ben Ellis, AlienBlaze.

Stevie Nicks Delivers Iconic Concert, Joined by Harry Styles at BST Hyde Park

Former Fleetwood Mac singer, the legendary Stevie Nicks, headlined the Great Oak Stage night at a sold out American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Friday, in what was one of the most iconic performances of 2024 so far. The 76-year-old star arrived on stage to a sea of applause after undergoing minor surgery on her leg in the last few weeks. Naturally, Nicks, who has been performing since the age of 18, left no hit out of her two hour long setlist, giving the awaiting audience the show of their lives.

The crowd roared in anticipation as Nicks made her way to the stage, the introductory notes to “Outside The Rain” teasing what was to come. Fleetwood Mac’s iconic “Dreams” followed, and the singer looked radiant in black and gold, as she embraced the crowd. “Thank you, welcome Hyde Park.. I’m really glad to be here and I’m really glad for you to be here,” she announced. “So let’s get this Hyde Park party started.”

A blend of timeless tunes, and a sense of storytelling through the ages, set the theme for the night – the stream of tracks including, “If Anyone Falls”, “Gypsy”, “For What It’s Worth”, “Free Falling”, “Wild Heart” and “Bella Donna” – the latter picked from Nicks’ debut platinum-selling 1981 album of the same name. Nicks also made a heartfelt dedication to her friend and fellow artist Tom Petty – performing his most famous track, “Free Fallin’”, while the audience sang their hearts out. “This is a special day for me for lots of reasons, for me to be back here,” she explained, referring to Nicks’ last appearance alongside Petty at Hyde Park just before he passed away in 2017. “…I feel his presence.”

Before launching into “Gypsy”, Nicks drew attention to her trademark black and gold cape. “This cape has been mended many, many times – unlike the Bella Donna cape that has never been mended,” she laughed. “It has been mended so many times, [but] it’s still standing. I don’t know [how].”

The second half of the set brought to life the likes of, “Stand Back”, “Gold Dust Woman” and “Leather and Lace”. Meanwhile, “Edge of Seventeen” came with an epic four-minute guitar intro from another legendary musician, Waddy Wachtel. Wachtel, who has also played with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Jon Bon Jovi and Iggy Pop, was at Nicks’ side for the entire set.

“You have been awesome…” Nicks thanked the crowd before the stage went dark, an encore looming. Inevitably, her finale was nothing short of spectacular. She began with “Rhiannon”, before the night climaxed with the arrival of Harry Styles on stage. The pair went onto duet on “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with Styles on the guitar. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they sang a very special version of “Landslide” in dedication to Nicks’ former Fleetwood Mac bandmate, the late Christine McVie, whose birthday would have been today. Old photographs of the pair appeared on the screens throughout.

“I asked Harry to do this, and it’s always heavy to ask someone to come and sing this song with you, when you’re singing about your best friend that died so suddenly and so sadly. What I want you to know is that Christine was Harry’s girl and she was my girl, she was your girl. And she loved all of this. And today was her birthday, so, it’s taken me all this time to try to deal with this situation.

“One thing my mum used to say to me when I was little, when I was hurt, was ‘Stevie when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage’. And that’s what I have been doing ever since Chris passed away, I’ve been running to the stage. And the only people who have helped me to get over all of this, has been all of you.”

The show ended with Nicks and Styles holding hands, as they took a bow and waved goodnight.
_____

Taking on “the biggest show she has ever played”, Brandi Carlile was beside herself to be playing the Great Oak Stage at Hyde Park in London. “Man, I was so nervous but my wife told me not to be nervous,” she explained sweetly. “I can’t believe I get to play Hyde freaking Park with all these people.”

Of course, Carlisle had nothing to fear as she performed her most loved tracks, such as “Right On Time”, “Sinners, Saints and Fools” and “The Joke”. Two very special nods – to Joni Mitchell with a cover of “Woodstock” and to Queen, with a cover of “We Are The Champions” – brought her brilliant hour-long set to a close.

Anna Calvi playing BST Hyde Park – Photo: Sharon Lopez (@sharonlopez)

Multi Mercury Award and Brit Award nominee, Anna Calvi, added a touch of Flamenco to the supporting line-up earlier, with songs taken from her four studio albums taking centre stage. Kicking off with “Rider To The Sea”, Calvi delivered perfect performances of “Suzanne & I”, “I’ll Be Your Man” and “Don’t Beat The Girl Out Of Me Boy.” The set was speckled with dedicatory covers, including Keren Ann’s “Strange Weather” and TV On The Radio’s “Wolf Like Me”. She ended with a poignant cover of Suicide’s “Ghost Rider”.

Paris Paloma at BST Hyde Park – Photo: Jennifer McCord (@jrcmccord)

Paris Paloma was tasked with warming up audiences on the Great Oak Stage this afternoon… And warm them up she did with her alternative-folk sound. “Hello BST, this is nuts… this is insane – [a] crazy amount of people to allow me to play for.” Wearing her trademark chic embroidery and silk, the Derbyshire artist performed “As Good A Reason” from her upcoming record, followed by her much-loved track, “Labour” – which racked up one million streams on Spotify within 24 hours of release. “This was incredibly important to me when I wrote it and it’s still incredibly important to me now,” she said.

Baby Queen, aka Arabella Latham, credits Nicks’ former band, Fleetwood Mac, as one of her greatest influences. Headlining The Rainbow Stage today, the Durban-born and London-based singer appeared beside herself to be one of the supporting acts for one of her heroes. The 26-year-old emigrated to London especially to kick start her music career. “Stevie Nicks tonight, right?” she asked the audience. “I’m the biggest Stevie Nicks fan ever. Fleetwood Mac is the reason I make music.”

Nina Nesbitt warmed up audiences with tracks, including “On The Run”, “Under” and “Mansion” from her upcoming album, “Mountain Magic”. “I’m very excited to be here, can’t quite believe it,” she said, beaming. The Scottish artist, who has now been a part of the UK chart scene for 12 years, recently revealed: “With this album, I was like, maybe people find it interesting to hear about growing up in Scotland or hav[ing] a female perspective on something that you wouldn’t normally hear about, or living in London.”

Catty on stage at BST Hyde Park – Photo: KHALI (@khaliphotography)

Known for her relatable and brutally honest lyrics, Welsh singer-songwriter CATTY, opened American Express presents BST Hyde Park today. The independent pop-rock singer who has previously opened for Lewis Capaldi, brought The Rainbow Stage alive with her catchy sound, including “Maybe All The Rumours Are True” and “I Don’t Miss You (I Just Miss You Mum)”. Bursting with emotion CATTY said: “This is an absolute dream come true, I might cry… I was going to say I’m the biggest Stevie Nicks fan, but I might have some competition here.”

Artist to watch Siobhan Winifred, 18-year-old Londoner Talia Rae, Dutch rising star Stevie Bill and pop songstress Nina Versyp completed the epic line-up.

Let’s go girls! Sunday night, the legend that is Shania Twain headlined the mighty Great Oak Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park. Stepping up into the limelight just as the sun was setting, the country-pop star wore a Viviene Westwood matching red mini skirt and jacket with a white top and a pair of silver lace-up boots. And it was clear she was ready to party.

The set kicked off with the brilliant “Don’t Be Stupid”, and tens of thousands of cowboys began clip-clopping across the park. “All the legends play this stage,” Twain announced. “And I have played this stage before… 2003! I can’t thank you guys enough.”

Non-stop fabulous songs followed – “You Win My Love”, “Wake Up Dreaming”, “Getcha Good” and “Forever and Always”, with Twain picking up her guitar and taking to a stool to treat the audience to an acoustic sing-along of her biggest hit, “Still The One”.

“There have been a lot of people who have been with me since the release of this song,” she continued to a packed Hyde Park, as “Come On Over” began, marking Twain’s 27 years of success since her third studio album of the same name. “Come on, Harry Styles listened to it, and his mum listened to it… It’s a compliment that the music spans generations.”

Getting even further into the country swing of things, “Any Man Of Mine”, “Giddy Up” and “Boots” lit up the stage. “The country vibe is so much a part of how folk music has developed around the world… Country music has kinda come back around in fashion, right?… I don’t care if they’re cowboy boots, wellington boots… we’re going to do some s***-kicking right now!”

After a moment hugging the Great Oak that decorates the stage (“It’s thick!”), Twain dazzled the crowd with “From This Moment”, her immense vocals bringing a tear to a fair few eyes. Then came a thunderous finale, consisting of “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, “Party For Two”, “Rock This Country”, Outta Here” – and, of course, a mammoth ending with “Man, I Feel Like A Woman”.

“I will remember this forever, I promise you,” Twain declared, her eyes gleaming.

It was as if BST Hyde Park stepped back into the glorious nineties earlier this evening, as Irish pop-rockers, The Corrs, took to the stage. “Good day, London in the sun. It is good to be back here in Hyde Park,” said a smiling Andrea Corr. Playing “Summer Sunshine”, she pointed out, “This song is appropriate [right now], let’s play it quick before it’s not…” Even the Tin Whistle made an appearance for a special performance of “Only When I Sleep”.

“The last time we were here was in 2016 and you guys have given us an incredible welcome back after [nearly] ten years,” Corr continued. As the audience whooped, the hits came out – including, “Give Me A Reason”, “What Can I Do?”, “Listen To The Radio”, “Forgiven, Not Forgotten”, “Dreams” (a Fleetwood Mac cover, and the band’s biggest UK hit), “So Young”, “Runaway” and “Breathless”.

A leopard print clad Anne-Marie took the crowd by storm, making a grand tribute to her hero and tonight’s headliner, Shania Twain. “Hello BST Hyde Park! How are you feeling? I’m going to cram as many songs in as I possibly can… How could I not wear this outfit?” The 33-year-old dished out a string of great songs, from “Birthday” and “2002” to “Unhealthy” – which had everyone singing along, and a sea of people swinging their stetsons – much to Anne-Marie’s delight. A cover of Haddaway’s “What Is Love?”, naturally, had the audience dancing their hearts out, ready and prepared for an epic night of music ahead.

Elle King from Los Angeles has previously discussed how her music is “rooted in every genre of vintage Americana” – and this was clear from her sassy, bluesy setlist. Launching with “Ain’t Country By Choice” and dropping “Little Bit Of Lovin’” – both fan favourites – the 35-year-old and her band were thrilled to be playing the UK capital. “We love London so much!” she exclaimed. “Are you guys having a good time or what? And the rain has stopped!”

Indeed, the sunshine broke through the clouds as Australian songstress, Natalie Imbruglia, started off proceedings on The Great Oak Stage. “Hello BST, thank you for being here,” she beamed to the large crowd. “We are going to get you warmed up… And thank you sunshine!” Those who were grabbing food and drinks dashed to the stage when they heard Imbruglia’s top tracks, “Wishing I Was There” and “Wrong Impression”, leading the set. “I haven’t played this park since 1998,” she said. “I’m thrilled to still be singing to audiences.” Wearing a burgundy puff-sleeve mini dress and black cowboy boots, Imbruglia teased a new track, “Have It” – a hint at the feel of her new album due out next year. “I’m going to come out and join you after this…” she declared to whooping fans, before ending with her ultimate hits, “Torn” and “Big Mistake”.

Canada-born Cate led the all-female line-up on the The Rainbow Stage today, readying the crowd with the catchy chorus from her track, “One Hit Wonder”. Influenced by noughties country-pop, the now London-based artist was thrilled to be showcasing her talents to a country music and Twain-adoring crowd. She said: “This is such a dream for me, I’m the biggest Shania Twain fan… I’m Canadian, same as our queen, Shania Twain!”

British festival favourite, Nell Mescal, was on duty to welcome the incoming Stetson-clad audience early in the afternoon. The 21-year-old Irish singer-songwriter wore a t-shirt emblazoned with ‘Let’s Go Girls’ as she played her 2023 releases “Punchline” and “Homesick”, plus “Killing Time” from her 2024 EP, “Can I Miss It For A Minute?” Her excitement to be supporting Twain was equally palpable. She said: “This is so fun. Give it up for Shania Twain – I can’t wait!”

From SXSW to the Great Escape, north London’s up-and-coming singer-songwriter Natalie Shay has been sampling her sound to music lovers all over the globe. Today, she opened The Rainbow Stage at American Express presents BST Hyde Park. She told the early-bird audience: “Hello Hyde Park, I’m so excited to be here… Thank you for coming and watching my set!”

Belfast rock band Dea Matrona, Welsh rocker Hannah Grae, South Australian sisters Germein and 27-year-old former “X Factor” runner-up Grace Davies, completed the fantastic line up on the Birdcage Stage. Global pop star, Anne-Marie, made a surprise appearance to introduce Davies, the winner of emerging artist public vote competition, presented by Volvic. This year, Anne-Marie and Volvic teamed up to encourage UK emerging artists to compete for a chance of performing at BST Hyde Park.

American Express presents BST Hyde Park continues next week, on Friday 12 July, with headliner Stevie Nicks, plus Brandi Carlisle, Anna Calvi, Paris Paloma, Baby Queen, Nina Nesbitt, Siobhan Winifred, Catty, Talia Rae, Stevie Bill and Nina Versyp.

Robbie Williams Puts On Spectacular Show At BST Hyde Park

Robbie Williams put on a two-hour spectacular on the Great Oak Stage tonight at American Express presents BST Hyde Park. The “Angels” superstar arrived to roaring cheers from a 65,000-person strong audience, putting on a sold-out headline show in his home country.

Arriving on stage with a troupe of 10 dancers, the singer-songwriter legend kicked things off with a bang with “Let Me Entertain You”, followed swiftly by 1960s Chris Kenner classic, “Land Of A Thousand Dances”, “Strong” and the much revered “Come Undone”. “Thank f*** England won!” he announced – with a nod to England’s Euro 2024 football team winning their quarter final game this evening. “How are you feeling everybody? Are you excited to see me?”

Pausing to introduce the audience to the story of his life, Williams took the crowd back to 1990 when his original group, Take That, produced their first music video, “Do What U Like”. With the saucy video playing on the big screen, he reminisced about the ups and downs of being in the band, before launching into Take That’s 1992 hit “Could It Be Magic”. Then, telling the story of how he sensationally quit the band in 1995, he saluted the Brit pop era, with a cover of “Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis, followed by Supergrass’ “Alright” – the latter a duet with Gaz Coombes.

Then, Blur’s “Park Life” – with Williams joined on stage by Eastenders actor Danny Dyer. “It’s the double act you didn’t know you needed in your life,” he declared as Dyer appeared. “Let’s ‘ave it, Hyde Park,” exclaimed Dyer. The performance was accompanied by an incredible 44-strong brass band of Beefeaters, consisting of Coldstream and Welsh Guards, who filled the catwalk, led by Williams and Dyer.

“Back For Good” was a nod to Williams’ reunion with Take That in 2010, and then came a tender moment where Williams thanked his wife, Ayda, and children for turning his life around. “I’ve been with my wife for 18 years. I am the man that I am because you have allowed me to grow with you,” he declared, looking up at his family in the Tree Top as the first few notes to “Love My Life” started. “And Teddy, you were the first of your kind and you absolutely blew my friggin’ mind. Daddy is super, super proud of you. I’m going to dedicate this next song to Beau, aged four, Coco, aged five, Charlie, aged nine and Teddy, aged 11.”

From there, Williams threw hit after hit at his fans, from “Candy”, “Supreme” and “Millennium” to “Feel”, “Kids”, “Rock DJ” and “No Regrets”. He even stepped into the crowd to serenade one fan with “She’s The One” – the lucky lady was Laura from Rome, Italy. Thrown into the mix was a dedication to the great artists who we have lost over the years, including Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Prince, Tina Turner, Bob Marley and more – their faces emblazoned on the screens.

Speaking candidly, Williams opened up to the crowd: “At 50, I’m still here and I’m extremely grateful… Tonight I was the happiest and most chilled I have ever been coming on stage. Maybe it was England [winning], maybe it was you guys, but I’m really f****** happy… Thank you for helping me remain on the planet. I love you guys.”

With a barrage of fireworks and a phenomenal performance of “Angels”, Williams’ headline set came to an end – once again with a crowd of 65,000 people singing every word. To the final chorus, as his fans sang his lyrics back at him, Williams turned around to embrace his eldest daughter Teddy and wife Ayda on stage. Holding them closely, he bid us “thank you and goodnight”.

Having already blown BST Hyde Park away as one of Andrea Bocelli’s special guests last night, legendary British singer-songwriter Seal returned to the Great Oak Stage tonight to support Williams. “It’s good to see you, it’s good to be back in my hometown,” the singer smiled, before going on to reveal that he was invited to play at BST while he was holidaying in the South of France “in his Speedo.”.

Wearing his trademark black t-shirt and black trousers, Seal looked as suave as ever. Dazzling the audience with his fine vocals, he performed his ultimate hits, such as “Crazy”, “Kiss From A Rose” and “Love’s Divine”, alongside a cover of T Rex’s “20th Century Boy”.

It didn’t take long for Supergrass frontman, Gaz Coombes, to note that the England football team was playing a crucial match today in the Euros. ““Hello, how are you doing? What are you all doing here? Isn’t there a game on?” he quipped. “If they score, give me a sign, let me know. If the other team scores, don’t tell me – it will put me off!”

Giving a nod to his Supergrass days, Coombes said: “Here’s one I wrote with some friends of mine in my old band. It goes like this…” before launching into the 1999 classic “Moving”. Dressed all in black, with a flat cap and sunglasses and playing his trademark guitar, the alt-rock singer progressed through his catalogue, making sure to also give the crowd another taste of the 90s with “Caught By The Fuzz”, before also playing “Feel The Loop (Lizard Dream)” and “Don’t Say It’s Over” from his 2023 LP, “Turn The Car Around”.

Earlier in the afternoon, Shaun Ryder’s Black Grape celebrated their three decades in the music business with a set saluting every era. Starting off with 90s hits, including “In The Name of The Father”, Ryder and his musical partner Paul Kermit played 45-minutes of their catalogue, also showcasing their latest album, “Orange Head”. “So, we’ve got a new album out,” Kermit grinned as the artwork filled the screen. Speaking recently about how Ryder and Kermit christened their band back in 1993, Ryder revealed: “The simple reason is, we had the album done, wrote all the tunes and we didn’t have a name. [The record label] wouldn’t release any money until we… gave [them] a name. Paul walked into the studio carrying a can of black grape. We just wanted the money…”

Celebrating her 37th birthday by opening the Great Oak Stage, Kate Nash kicked off proceedings with a dedication to headliner Robbie Williams. “Thank you for being with us in the meantime, while we wait for the King of Pop to arrive,” she said, to the cheering crowd. The singer also shared some new tracks with fans, including “Millions of Heartbeats”, taken from her brand new album “9 Sad Symphonies”. The West London-born singer shared some classics too, such as the candid “Dickhead” from her 2007 album “Made of Bricks” and the evergreen “Foundations” from the same era.

Headlining The Rainbow Stage today was English pop-rock duo, Soft Play, who have racked up three top ten albums in the UK. “Hello London… We are a two man boy band from the garden of England,” they chimed. “There’s a reason why there’s only two of us on stage today. When we wanted to start a band, no one wanted to join the f****** band, but we carried on.” Consisting of Isaac Holman on lead vocals and drums, and Lauren Vincent on vocals and bass, Soft Play went all out getting the audience ready for their EMI label mate, Williams, entertaining with the likes of the recent release, “Everything and Nothing”, “Mirror Muscles” and “Punk’s Dead”. “All hail the king… Robbie Williams!”

Singer-songwriter and guitarist, James Smith from Northampton couldn’t hide his excitement at supporting Robbie Williams at BST Hyde Park. The young musician, who has recently performed in New York and Austin, showcased a selection of his songs such as “Molly”, “Somebody To You” and “Sunshine”. The young singer wrote on Instagram: “BST BABY. I’m supporting bloody Robbie Williams. 65,000 people. What a dream.”

Dubai-based singer and pianist – Robbie Williams’ good friend – Ryan Gibb, opened American Express presents BST Hyde Park. When organising the lineup for tonight, there was no doubt Williams would include Gibb on the list, after he impressed Robbie at his 25th anniversary show last year.

Brit-pop singer Ellur, Dutch singer and youTube fan Davina Michelle, and up-and-coming pop-punk star, Ben Kidson, completed a day of classical prestige.

American Express presents BST Hyde Park continues tomorrow, Sunday 7 July with headliner Shania Twain, The Corrs, Anne-Marie, Elle King, Natalie Imbruglia, Cate, Nell Mescal, Dea Mattron, Hannah Grae, Natalie Shay and Germein.

Kasabian Announce Four Huge UK Arena Shows Plus Special Guests The Streets

Following a wild, triumphant week that saw the release of their brand new studio album Happenings, a truly euphoric secret set at Glastonbury’s Woodsies Stage, and a celebratory hometown headliner at Leicester’s Victoria Park this Saturday, today sees yet another installment of the band’s incredible run as Kasabian announce four huge November UK arena shows with special guests The Streets.

The four shows will see them visit Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London’s O2 Arena. Pre-Sale tickets are available HERE, with general sale tickets from Wednesday, 10th July @ 9.30am. See full dates below.
